Without volunteers like the great Mayor David W. Hanselman (pictured above seated with his son Mark, seated in the completely restored 1926 American LaFrance fire engine ), the Center Line community would not be where it is today! Mayor Hanselman, who sadly passed away in the Summer of 2015, worked tirelessly to build a strong, healthy community through his many efforts with community based organizations, and his commitment to the City of Center Line as a whole. An example of Mayor Hanselman’s dedication is the beautiful, original 1926 Center Line Fire Department LaFrance Fire Engine. That Fire Engine is now our Center Line Independence Festival mascot, it represents the volunteerism of Mayor Hanselman. Because of him and many volunteers, Center Line has had one of the areas best fireworks display, and now the area’s best festival!
